Jon Margolis has acted as Special Master, mediator and/or arbitrator in more than 500 cases. He has helped the parties reach settlements in more than 98% of these matters.

For 25 years Jon has specialized in all aspects of dispute resolution and civil litigation, including construction litigation, real estate, business litigation, insurance, bad faith, personal injury, and product liability matters. He has lectured throughout the country on various topics in dispute resolution, construction litigation, civil litigation and California law, and has been a panelist for Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) since 1998.

Jon has served as an expert in legal malpractice and bad faith claims arising out of underlying civil litigation and construction litigation disputes. He has tried a number of jury and court trials to verdict, including construction, land use, product liability, business dispute, and personal injury matters, and has successfully argued cases in the California Supreme Court, First and Sixth District Courts of Appeal, as well as in the Ninth Circuit.

Jon graduated with honors from Boston College Law School in 1981, and is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has received the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell, “A-V”. He has also been named as a “Northern California Super Lawyer”.
